Walker Shabazz-Edwards

Walker Shabazz-Edwards signs with Future Global Sports

Future Global Sports is delighted to announce that Walker Shabazz-Edwards has appointed us to represent him on an exclusive, worldwide basis.

The 6ft 5in centre-back is a highly rated 18-year-old talent on the books at Ipswich Town where he plays for their Under-21s, and recently received international honours when he was called up to represent both the Guyana Under-20s men’s and senior national team for the first time.

Shabazz-Edwards started his career in non-league football playing for Ilford FC in 2023. He made 14 appearances before a move to Brightlingsea Regent in step 4 of non-league in August 2024.

At Brightlingsea, Shabazz-Edwards quickly established himself as one of the standout players in non-league football, a then 17-year-old who won man of the match awards for his club three times in a row in his first few weeks playing men’s football at the level.

Such commanding performances at the heart of defence quickly attracted attention from professional clubs, and in 2025 Shabazz-Edwards was rewarded with his first professional contract and a move into the professional game, signing for Ipswich Town - at the time a Premier League club - following a successful trial.

Since signing for Ipswich, Shabazz-Edwards has been a regular starter for The Tractor Boys’ U21s side, a Category 1 academy who play at the highest level of youth football in England in the Premier League 2. In 2025/26 he averages an 88.5% pass completion rate.

In early 2026, Shabazz-Edwards earned international recognition when he was called up to Guyana’s U20s squad for the CONCACAF U20 championship qualifiers. He won his first cap against Curacao in a 3-2 defeat. He was then called up to the senior Guyana national team for the first time in March 2026.

At Future Global Sports we continue to emerge as an ideal destination for top young talents to work with and help build their careers. We feel that Walker is a player with high potential, who if honed correctly with the right focus, application and guidance, can go on to become a top level defender in the years to come.

We are excited to work together with Walker to offer our guidance and knowledge of football as he looks to improve and realise his full potential in the years to come.

Welcome to FGS, Walker.

Future is Shabazz-Edwards!
